Gadget Reviews – The Samsung NX200 is the second-generation model of the NX series. It continues and improves the previous model NX100. The Samsung NX200 owns a 20.3-megapixel CMOS imaging sensor measuring 23.5 x 15.7mm that is easily beating the rivals Olympus Pen E-P3, Nikon 1 J1, Pentax K-01, and Panasonic GX1. However, the Samsung NX200 can’t take over the NEX-7 which has 24.3-megapixel of resolution.

For the price tag of £549, you can get the very well made camera Samsung NX200 in your hand. The front casing is made from aluminium while the back and underside are made from plastic. You will find the only metal casing material in the lens mount surrounding. Samsung has built the Samsung NX200 excellently. It sports a flat top panel and rounded ends while the thumb grip panel appears on the rear side. The Samsung NX200 weighs at 271 grams including the battery and memory card.

The Samsung NX200 has shutter speeds of 30 seconds to 1/4000th of a second at the wide range of exposure control. In start-up, the Samsung NX200 runs a quick sensor-cleaning routine that takes a few seconds which the reason to keep dust off the sensor. However, the time delaying before the next shoot might be annoying in the hurry situation. You can turn it off in the menu that results the Samsung NX200 to have 1.3 seconds of shot-to-shot time in single-shot mode.

The Samsung NX200 performs 3fps continuous shooting at a low speed mode and 7fps at a high-speed mode. After the still capturing at the high-speed mode, the camera will be locked for about 12 seconds to write the data into the memory card. Recording HD video, the Samsung NX200 captures images at 1,920 x 1,080 resolutions with stereo audio. The video is resulted in H.264 format.

The Samsung NX200 is powered with a 1,030mAh li-ion rechargeable battery that is claimed to give the camera’s capability of 320 shots in a single charge.
