Pentax K-01 Review
Gadget Reviews – The Pentax K-01 is a fully-featured camera that is offered with unusual design. Underneath the hood, the Pentax K-01 sports a 16 Megapixel CMOS sensor that is paired with K-mount lens with built-in image stabilization. Besides having lots of manual controls, the Pentax K-01 is able to handle 1080p video recording.
Pentax K-01 Specs and Features
The Pentax K-01 is built in a unique design, retro-modern design that sports a made-almost-entirely-of-metal chassis with rubberized sections on front and the sides. The thickness of the Pentax K-01 makes someone with a large hand might be difficult to grab the camera. The flash release / delete photo button is placed nicely to be easy reached.
Under the hood, the Pentax K-01 owns a 16 Megapixel CMOS sensor which its 16.3 effective pixels while the ISO sensitivity is ranged from 100 to 12800. The Pentax K-01 has minimum shutter speed at 30 sec and maximum shutter speed at 1/4000 sec.

On the rear panel, the Pentax K-01 is equipped with 3 inch TFT LCD monitor delivering 921,000 dots with live view mode support.
What the Pentax K-01 lacks is about autofocus speeds performance. Measured at 0.3 – 1.0 sec on autofocus in normal light is quite disappointed as the autofocus in low light condition measured at over 1.0 seconds. The Pentax K-01 will start up after 1.1 seconds waiting from the start button pressing.
With the high speed mode, the Pentax K-01 keep JPEG burst shooting after those ten shots are done at a rate of 2.5 fps.
Unfortunately, the Pentax K-01 has no any internal storage included. However, it supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC media. You may want to add a 4GB storage for taking mostly still photos with this Pentax K-01. If you demand a lot of Full HD videos, you will be better to add card that owns 8 – 16 GB storage.
The D-LI90 lithium-ion battery is fitted to the camera to power it for up to 500 shots, slightly higher than the rival Sony Alpha NEX-5N that comes with NP-FW50 battery supporting 430 shots in a single charge. You can pop the battery into the included charger for 320 minutes before the battery is fully charged.
